Welcome to our new D&D 3.5 game!!! This will be taking place in Krynn, during the Age of Mortals, or the 5th Age. The character generation guidelines are where we will begin... - Characters begin at 2nd level.
- Statistics will be calculated with 30 points per character. Stats start at 8. Each increase above 14 costs 2 points each.
- Please justify any stat below 8 (I wanted a 20 Strength doesn't count ).
- Races, classes, and prestige classes will be limited to PHB, DMG, Dragonlance 3.5 Campaign Settings, or GM discretion. Interesting game enhancing reasons which fit or help the storyline will get better consideration. Plan accordingly.
- Compelling stories help create fascinating characters, so think of your characters origins, likes, dislikes, quirks, etc.
- The two main gods, Paladine and Takhisis, are no longer in the heavens, but are rumored to walk the land. All other Krynn deities are available for clerics / mystics.
Here are some helpful links: www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/9/9791.phtmlwww.physiol.ox.ac.uk/~sl2/dl/krynn.htmlThe Dragonlance Campaign Setting pdf is available online for free. It'll be the main source book for Krynn based characters. Attachments:

Once you guys have a general idea of what you'd like to make, please post it or let me know. I'm curious to see what the party will end up looking like.

I'd prefer to make some sort of skirmishy light-fighter kinda thing (monk, rogue, ranger sort of thing, in that order).
Not particularly interested in playing a magey type thing.

Hi, everyone! Looking forward to playing. BTW... I have the best cat ever and my cats breath smells like cat food.

Ok, but seriously... I'm looking at putting together an Arcane Archer down the road. That means I will be splitting my charachter between fighter and mage (probably sorcerer). This also means comitting to an elf. I'm not married to this idea. If it doesn't fit with the groups dymamics I'll find something else to play.

As of this writing, it looks like I'll be making a minotaur Monk. Still working out the background issues-- which monastic order, how well integrated into non-minotaur society, exact character flaws, and the like.
I started off thinking that the 'rescued as a youngling' approach made the most sense, but reading up a lot more on the subject matter I'm thinking something more like 'left the Blood Islands in search of destiny and ended up in monastery (exactly how TBD)' is better.
Also in play is the Lawful Evil Sargas worshipping monk (apparently completely kosher from what I've read up on) though I'm not sure that will work for the overall campaign story as well.
I'll have to let this marinade a bit until I can work out all the details.

A Minotaur Monk may find Kiri-Jolith a workable deity. A small number of Minotaurs worship him, he represents honor and courage on the battlefield, and is worshiped in military style organizations.

Kiri-Jolith works-- I'll be from Kothas (I think that makes more sense).

Hey team! I'm excited about the game, and character creation is one of my favorite things.
I am still in process of making a char, but I have narrowed it down. Small, high charisma, skilly, and bad in combat. Also an ersatz healer, a la wand of cure light wounds (once he can afford it). Prolly be a good scout, but not a locksmith. Unless he trends heavy caster, prolly not that, either. Basically an NPC, but we'll see how things go.

Greetings all! So I'm looking at making a dwarven fighter. From the Daewar Mountain clan, possibly an outcast. Doing some form of work for or a member of the Legion of Steel and working towards becoming a Steel Legionnaire. Looking forward to the game! Also found a pretty cool Dragonlance character generator online. Was helpful for me in visualizing the mechanics of the character: www.pathguy.com/krynn.htm#top_of_form

Hey, crew. So I've refined things a bit. Kosh is a gnome rogue with some magic skillz that you may or may not know about- I don't know whether he's going to be obvious about his spellcasting. Lockpicking and traps will be among his good skills, so he'll slot in as a full-on rogue. Good cha, too. Very unlikely now on the wand of CLW, but since we have a cleric in the party now, that shouldn't be a problem.
But he probably still sucks in combat and is easy to hit, so we'll see how that goes...

Ok, my plan is human cleric w/ strength and war domains. I'm going to take crafting feats as they become available. Since crafting magic items requires spending exp that'll give him more motivation to go adventuring.
